Scheduled Kaua‘i lane closures on state roadways for Oct. 4-10

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures and road work projects for state roadways on the Garden Isle during the week of Oct. 4-10.

HIGHWAY 50

LĪHU‘E TO PUHI

  • ROVING LANE SHIFT CLOSURE on Kaumualiʻi Highway possible in either direction between mile posts 0.0 and 2, in the vicinity of Rice Street and Anonui Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 6-10 for restriping crosswalks.

ʻŌMAʻO TO LĀWAʻI

  • LANE SHIFT on Kaumualiʻi Highway possible in either direction between mile posts 9 and 10, in the vicinity of Upa Road and Akemāmā Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 6-10 for installation of new reflectors.

HIGHWAY 51

NĀWILIWILI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Nāwiliwili Road possible in either direction between mile posts 0.0 and 0.8, in the vicinity of Waʻa-pā Road and Rice Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 6-10 for concrete sidewalk and curb work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

LĪHU‘E TO KAPAʻA

  • ROVING LANE CLOSURE on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction between mile posts 0.0 and 10, in the vicinity of Rice Street and Cane Haul Road, from 1 to 6:30 a.m. Oct. 6-8 for street sweeping.

WAILUĀ

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Kūhiō Highway in the southbound/Līhuʻe-bound direction between mile posts 5.7 and 5.9, in the vicinity of Wailua State Park and Kuamoʻo Road, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 8 for bridge repair on the mauka Wailuā bridge. One lane will remain open for through traffic.

KAPAʻA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction between mile posts 8.0 and 9.5, in the vicinity of ʻAkia Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 6-10 for concrete work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE

  • SIDE POCKET SHIFT WITH INTERMITTENT LANE CLOSURE as needed on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction between mile posts 24.4 and 28.1, in the vicinity of Kāhiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 6-10 for striping.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction between mile posts 0.0 and 2, in the vicinity of Emmalani Drive, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 6-10 for cutting grass.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction between mile posts 0.3 and 1.2 in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and ʻŌhiki Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 6-10 for fence installation on Hanalei Hill. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction between mile posts 1.2 and 2.3, in the vicinity of ʻŌhiki Road and Papio Place, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 6-10 for guardrail installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

WAIKOKO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction between mile posts 4.6 and 4.8, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahaʻi Beach, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 6-10 for soil nail drilling and grouting. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 550

KŌKE‘E

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Waimea Canyon Drive possible in either direction between mile posts 4.6 and 11.5 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 6-10 for shoulder reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 583

KAPA‘IA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Ma‘alo Road possible in either direction between mile posts 1 and 2.5, in the vicinity of Cane Road, from 4 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 5 for grading work.
