Scheduled Kaua‘i lane closures on state roadways for Sept. 29 to Oct. 3

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures and road work projects for state roadways on the Garden Isle during the week of Sept. 29 to Oct. 3.

HIGHWAY 50

KALĀHEO TO ‘ELE‘ELE

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 12 and 15, in the vicinity of Halewili Road and Laulea Road, from 8:30 a.m. ot 1:30 p.m. Sept. 29 to Oct 3 for cutting grass

LĀWAʻI

  • LANE SHIFT CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 9.5 and 20, in the vicinity of Akemama Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 29 to Oct. 3 for installation of new reflectors.

LĪHUʻE to PUHI

  • ROVING LANE SHIFT CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.0 and 2, in the vicinity of Rice Street and Anonui Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 29 to Oct 3 for restriping crosswalks.

PUA LOKE

  • RIGHT TURN POCKET CLOSURE in the southbound direction near mile post 0.5, in the vicinity of Uahi Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 29 to Oct 3 for waterline installation.

WAIMEA TO KEKAHA

  • LANE SHIFT CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 23.5 and 24.5, in the vicinity of Royal Coconut Grove Road and Kekaha Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 29 to Oct. 3 for ditch cleaning.

HIGHWAY 51

NAWILIWILI

  • SINGLE RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.0 and 0.8 and 1.9, in the vicinity of Waapa Road and Rice Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 29 to Oct. 3 for concrete sidewalk and curb work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAYS 56/560

ANAHOLA TO MOLOAʻA

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 14 to 16.5, in the vicinity of Aliomanu Road and Koʻolau Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 29 to Oct. 2 for cutting grass.

HANALEI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 1.2 and 4.2, in teh vicinity of Ohiki Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 29 to Oct. 3 for concrete work and guardrail installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE

  • SIDE POCKET SHIFT CLOSURE with intermittent lane closues as needed and possible in either direction between mile posts 24.4 and 28.1, in the vicinity of Kāhiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 29 to Oct. 3 for striping.

KAPAʻA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 8 and 9.5, in the vicinity of ʻAkia Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 29 to Oct. 3 for concrete work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KĪLAUEA TO PRINCEVILLE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 23.5 to 27, in the vicinity of Kalamania Road and Princeville Golf Course, from 1 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. Sept. 30 to Oct. 2 for weed control and street sweeping.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.3 and 1.2 in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and ʻŌhiki Road, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 29 to Oct. 3 for vegetation work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

WAIKOKO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 4.6 and 4.8, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahaʻi Trailhead, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 29 to Oct. 3 for soil nail drilling and grouting. Alternating traffice will be routed through the open lane.

WAILUA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the northbound direction between mile posts 5.6 and 5.9, in the vicinity of mauka Wailuā Plantation Bridge, from 6 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 29 to Oct. 1 for bridge panel replacement. One lane will remain open for through traffic.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the southbound direction between mile posts 5.7 and 5.9, in the vicinity of mauka Wailuā Plantation Bridge, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 30 to Oct. 2 for bridge repair. One lane will remain open for through through traffic.

HIGHWAY 5600

KAPAʻA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 1.0 to 2, in the vicinity of Olohena Road, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, September 29 to Thursday, October 2 for cutting grass.

Lane closure schedules can change at any time without notice. All projects are weather permitting.
