Flood Watch: Possible flash flooding on Kauaʻi and Niʻihau Thursday through Friday
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch on Thursday morning for Kauaʻi and Niʻihau.
The advisory said flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible today through Friday afternoon.
Flood prone roads and other low lying areas may be closed due to elevated runoff and overflowing streams.
A front will stall near Kauaʻi today and bring widespread showers. An approaching upper low will destabilize the atmosphere across this area and bring the potential for increased showers along with isolated thunderstorms that will continue through the day Friday.
Heavy rain lingering over the same areas on Kauaʻi and Niʻihau may result in flash flooding.
