Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i Resort & Spa — a 605-room resort situated on 50 oceanfront acres in Poʻipū, overlooking Keoneloa Bay, also known as Shipwreck Beach, on the Garden Isle’s South Shore — is now among America’s best golf resorts.

The resort is home to the renowned 18-hole, 210-acre Poʻipū Bay Golf Course, perched on coastal terrain above the Pacific Ocean with spanning views of Kauai’s emerald mountains.

Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i is the only Kaua‘i-based resort to be named by Golf Digest — a national magazine and comprehensive resource for golf enthusiasts — to its prestigious list of best golf resorts.

“We are thrilled to be named among the country’s best golf resorts by such an esteemed publication as Golf Digest,” said Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i General Manager Michael Murphy in the resort’s announcement about the accolade. “This recognition is a testament to the stunning oceanfront golf course, our incredible lineup of resort experiences and our amazing team who work hard to ensure memorable vacation moments for each of our guests.”

The list of best golf resorts is determined by Golf Digest’s course ranking panelists, a group of more than 1,500 avid golf travelers who are asked to score the resorts they stayed and played at during the past 5 years on a scale of 1 to 10 points.

The championship Poʻipū course features Seashore Paspalum hybrid (supreme) grass which provides a consistent putting surface and an eco-friendly option requiring less herbicides and water than other types of grass.

Golfers who play Poʻipū Bay Golf Course discover cultural sites of Hawaiian heiau and historic stone walls that surround the course, honoring the history and culture of the area.

The course also underwent renovations in 2024 to update its irrigation system and 28 greenside bunkers. Revitalized bunkers feature an enhanced drainage system that provide optimal playing conditions.

Those updates preserve the course’s authentic design by restoring the bunkers to their original form, further capturing the course’s historical essence.

Golfers can also enjoy a wide array of memorable experiences at Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i after a day out on the links, from weekly lūʻau and an on-site cultural center to a multi-level pool complex and luxurious spa experiences.
