Power outage ongoing following vehicle collision with utility pole

Update, 6:40 a.m. Sept. 14: Power is being restored on Kauai’s west side following an overnight vehicle collision.

A power outage is affecting west side residents in Waimea, Kekaha, and Kōke’e due to a downed pole from a car accident, according to the Kaua’i Island Utility Cooperative.

Power is expected to be restored in about four hours as Kaua’i Island Utility Cooperative personnel diagnose the problem and work to restore service.
