County of Kauaʻi updates residents on status of refuse stations
County of Kaua‘i released the status of its refuse transfer stations and the Kekaha Landfill today with only one change at the Hanalei Refuse Transfer Station.

Hanalei is expected to resume its green waste collection at 2 p.m. today after closing due to capacity. Green waste is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and all other services are open from 7:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
The Kapa‘a Refuse Transfer Station is closed for renovations through December 2025. However, the green waste collection is now open from 7:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Additionally, residential bagged trash will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. from Friday to Sunday at the Kapa‘a Base Yard at 4900 Kahau Road.
All services are available at the Līhu‘e Refuse Transfer Station from 7:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. However, construction and demolition debris must be cut to 3-foot lengths. Pallets must be cut into quarters. Līhu‘e does not accept scrap metal or appliances.
All services are available at the Hanapēpē Refuse Transfer Station from 7:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. and at the Kekaha Landfill from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., except for lunch from noon to 12:30 p.m.
