The Department of Water has scheduled a temporary water service shutdown for parts of Hauaala Road (valley side), Makamaka Street, and Keapana Road in Kapa’a.

The shutdown is scheduled for Sept. 11 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The shutdown is necessary for construction crews to replace a pressure-reducing valve on a nearby waterline, a routine upgrade to help maintain the area’s water system.

Residents and businesses in the affected area are advised to store enough water for personal and household use during the shutdown. Inform household members, neighbors, tenants, or anyone else who might be impacted.

Properties with older water heaters should make sure their units do not drain during shutdown and avoid using appliances that depend on water during the interruption.

Water service is expected to be restored by early afternoon, but updates will be provided as needed.
