Production issues of ID cards at Kaua‘i DMV continue due to downed equipment
The production of identification cards including driving permits, drivers licenses, and state identification cards continues to be unavailable due to hardware issues at the Division of Motor Vehicles on Kaua‘i.
DMV staff continue to work closely with its vendors to restore full functionality as quickly as possible and anticipate that identification cards will become available on Sept. 10, according to a news release from Kaua‘i County.
The DMV is contacting those with appointments for the remainder of the business week via email or phone call, canceling their appointments for all driver’s license, CDL, and state identification card services.
To reschedule your appointment, rebook through the DMV website at https://www.kauai.gov/DMV. If you have already paid for road test services, the DMV will hold your payment and apply it to your next appointment.
Permit appointments will continue, and the DMV will hold your results for 30 days.
The DMV continues to be available for all motor vehicle services, ADA placards, and utility bill payments.
