The Department of Public Works, in partnership with contractor Maui Kupono Builders, reported that lane closures will be in effect on portions of Hailima Road, Iuka Place, and Aka Road in Kōloa starting Tuesday.

Road paving work, which will take place through Sept. 19, is scheduled to occur on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., according to a Kaua‘i County press release.

Property access will remain available during construction, but drivers are advised to expect delays, use alternate routes when possible, and allow additional travel time.

No parking will be permitted in active work zones, and traffic flaggers will be on site to direct vehicles safely through the area.

The Department of Public Works asks for the public’s cooperation and patience as crews complete the roadway improvements. All road work is dependent on the weather.

For further information, contact  Maui Kupono Builders at 808-369-800 or Todd Ozaki at the County of Kaua‘i at 808-241-4845.
