Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures for Aug. 30 to Sept. 5.

In observance of Labor Day on Sept. 1, there will be no contraflow and lane closures unless otherwise permitted. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.

— KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

KIPU TO OMAO (NIGHT WORK)

Roving lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 2.9 to 8.7 in the vicinity of Kipu Road and Omao Road, nightly from Sept. 2 to Friday, Sept. 5 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for striping.

KŌLOA TO KALAHEO (WEEKEND EVENT)

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) in the northbound direction, between mile post 6.7 to 8.7 in the vicinity of Maluhia Road and Omao Road, on Aug. 31 from 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. for Kaua‘i Marathon. Alternating traffic through the open lane.

— KAPULE HIGHWAY (ROUTES 51) —

LĪHU‘E (24/7 CLOSURE)

Right lane closure on Kapule Highway (Route 51) in the northbound direction, between mile post 1.6 to 1.9, in the vicinity of Ka‘ana Street and Ahukini Road, 24 hours 7 days a week 29 for sewer line installation.

WAILUA (NIGHT WORK)

Two lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 5.6 to 5.9, in the vicinity of Wailua Bridge, on Sept. 2 to Sept. 5 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly for bridge repair. There will be one lane of traffic open in both directions.

Two lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction, between mile post 5.6 to 5.9, in the vicinity of the mauka Wailua Bridge, on Sept. 3 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for bridge repair. There will be one lane of traffic open in both directions.

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 8 to 9.5, in the vicinity of Akia Road, nightly on Sept. 2 to Sept. 5 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for striping and marking installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

ANAHOLA (NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 13.5 to 13.7, in the vicinity of Anahola Road and Kiko‘o Loop, on Sept. 2 and Sept. 4 from 1 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for cutting grass.

KĪLAUEA

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 21 to 22, in the vicinity of Waiakalua Street and Kaluamakua Place, on Sept. 2 to Sept. 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.

KĪLAUEA (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 23.2 to 23.6, in the vicinity of Kolo Road and Kalamania Road, nightly on Sept. 2 to Sept. 5 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving roundabout area.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction, between mile post 0.3 to 1.2 in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, on Sept. 2 to Sept. 5 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for drain line work.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI (NIGHT WORK)

Alternating single lane closure building to a full closure of Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Sept. 2 to Sept. 5 for asphalt reconstruction. HANALEI (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) in the Haena bound direction between mile post 1.2 to 3.4, between the Ohiki Road and Kumu Road, on Sept. 2 to Sept. 5 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving, concrete work and guardrail installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

WAIKOKO (24/7 CLOSURE)

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile post 4.3 to 4.5, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahai Trailhead, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for slope stabilization of Waikoko Hillside. — WAIMEA CANYON DRIVE (ROUTE 550) —

KŌKE‘E

Single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) possible in either direction between mile post 4.6 to 11.5, on Sept. 2 to Sept. 5 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for shoulder reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

— KAPA‘A BYPASS ROAD (ROUTE 5600) —

Right lane closure on Kapa‘a Bypass Road (Route 5600) possible in either direction between mile post 0.0 to 3, between Kūhiō Highway on Sept. 2 to Sept. 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.
