Tree trimming, removal work prompts single-lane, full closures on Akemāmā Road

Motorists can expect single-lane and intermittent road closures during one day next week along a portion of Akemāmā Road in Lāwa‘i.

Kaua‘i County Department of Public Works and contractor The Cutting-Edge Land Clearing Solutions will intermittently close the road for 15 to 30 minutes at a time from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 2, weather permitting.

The closures are necessary for tree trimming and removal.

Drivers who use Akemāmā Road should make plans in advance to accommodate the necessary lane closures. Use alternate routes, if possible, and allow extra time to reach destinations.

No parking will be allowed in the work zones. Flaggers will direct traffic.
