County of Kauaʻi announces holiday closures for Labor Day

County offices and facilities will close for Labor Day next Monday.

County of Kauaʻi offices will observe the holiday on Monday, Sept. 1 and close along with the following facilities:

  • All neighborhood centers
  • Puhi Metals Recycling Center
  • Reynolds Recycling HI5 Redemption Center in Līhuʻe
  • Kekaha Landfill
  • All refuse transfer stations

The Waimea and Kapaʻa swimming pools, typically closed on Mondays, will observe the holiday on Tuesday, Sept. 2, and reopen on Wednesday, Sept. 3. Pool hours can be found on the Department of Parks and Recreation website.

Due to the Kauaʻi Marathon on Aug. 31, the HI5 Certified Redemption Center in Kōloa will also close on Aug. 31.

The schedule for residential refuse pickup will remain unchanged, and The Kaua‘i Bus will operate on its regular schedule on the holiday. For recycling and waste disposal information, visit the recycling programs website

Regular business hours for county offices and services will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
