Kaua‘i Circuit Court seeks attorney applicants for independent Grand Jury counsel
The 5th Circuit Court on Kaua‘i is looking for applicants for its Independent Grand Jury Counsel.
The position, which does come with compensation, would be a one-year appointment, according to a press release from the Hawai‘i State Judiciary.
A grand jury counsel is an attorney appointed to advise a grand jury on legal matters related to a case they are considering, as established by the Constitution of the State of Hawaiʻi.
A grand jury in Hawai‘i is a group of residents, selected to serve for a year and review evidence presented by a prosecutor to determine if there is enough evidence to formally accuse someone of a felony crime.
The chief justice of the state supreme court appoints grand jury counsel. Those interested in the position are asked to mail their resumé to Kaua‘i’s Chief Judge at:
