Emergency road closure scheduled this week for part of Akemāmā Road in Lāwaʻi

Kauaʻi County Department of Public Works and The Cutting-Edge Land Clearing Solutions notify the public that a full road closure is slated this week along a portion of Akemāmā Road in Lāwaʻi.

The emergency road closure is planned for 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 13, weather permitting, for the removal of hazardous trees hanging above the roadway and ensure public safety.

Motorists should make appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary closure and allow for extra time to get to destinations if they must travel through the work area.

No parking will be allowed in the work zone. Flaggers also will direct traffic.
