Scheduled Kaua‘i lane closures on state roadways for Aug. 3-8

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures and road work projects for state roadways on the Garden Isle during the week of Aug. 3-8.

HIGHWAY 50

PUA LOKE

• SHOULDER CLOSURE in the southbound direction between mile posts 0.51 and 0.56, in the vicinity of Uahi Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 6-8 for waterline tie in.

LĪHU‘E TO PUHI

• ROVING LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 2.9 and 8.7, in the vicinity of Kīpū Road and ʻŌmaʻo Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 4-8 for maintaining crosswalks.

KĪPŪ TO ʻŌMAʻO

• ROVING LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 2.9 and 8.7, in the vicinity of Kīpū Road and ʻŌmaʻo Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Aug. 3-8 for striping.

KŌLOA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 4 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Puuana Road and Maluhia Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Aug. 3-8 for soil boring.

HIGHWAY 51

LĪHU‘E

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE in the northbound direction between mile posts 1.6 and 1.9, in the vicinity of Kāʻana Street and Ahukini Road, 24 hours 7 days a week from Aug. 4 to Sept. 1 for sewer line installation.

NĀWILIWILI

• TWO-LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.0 and 0.09, in the vicinity of Waʻa-pā Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 4-8 for gutter and shoulder clearing.

HIGHWAYS 56/560

LĪHU‘E

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 2 and 4, in the vicinity of Hanamāʻulu Road and Kauaʻi Beach Road, from 1 to 6:30 a.m. Aug. 5-7for cutting grass.

WAILUĀ

• TWO-LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 5.6 and 5.9, in the vicinity of Wailuā Bridge, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Aug. 4-8 for bridge repair. There will be one lane of traffic open in both directions.

KAPAʻA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 8 and 9.5, in the vicinity of ʻAkia Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Aug. 3-8 for striping and marking installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KĪLAUEA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 20.5 and 22, in the vicinity of Koʻolau Road and Kaluamakua Place, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 6 for guardrail repair.

KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 24.4 and 28.1, in the vicinity of Kāhiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive, from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Aug. 3-8 for rumble strip installation and striping.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

• SINGLE LANE CLOUSRE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.3 and 1.2, in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and ʻŌhiki Road, from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Aug. 4-8 for asphalt reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HANALEI

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 2 and 3.5, in the vicinity of Kumu Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 4-8 for clearing of inlets and outlets.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the Hāʻena-bound direction between mile posts 2.7 and 3.3 (Tahiti Nui and ʻAnae Road) from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 4-8 for paving and concrete work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

WAIKOKO TO HALEHOMAHA

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 4 and 9, in the vicinity of Waipā Stream and ʻĀleʻaleʻa Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 4-8 for cutting grass.

WAIKOKO

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 4.3 and 4.5, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahaʻi Trailhead, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for slope stabilization of Waikoko Hillside. WAHIAWĀ

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 2 and 3, in the vicinity of McBride New Mill Road and Camp 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 4-8 for fire break maintenance.

HIGHWAY 550

KŌKE‘E

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 4.6 and 11.5 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 4-8 for installation of best management practices, grubbing and clearing. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 580

WAILUĀ HOMESTEADS

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction in the vicinity of mile post 4.8 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 4-5 for guardrail repair.
