Garden Isle residents are reminded that metal recycling drop-off is again available to them at all Kaua‘i County Solid Waste facilities.

However, the service is NOT available at the Kapa‘a transfer station. The facility remains closed through December.

Residential metal recycling drop-off services resumed last month at all Kauaʻi County solid waste facilities, including transfer stations and the Kekaha Landfill. (Photo File)

See the following guidelines for metal recycling at all county transfer stations and Kekaha Landfill:

  • Items must be free of all fluids and contain no batteries or other combustible materials.
  • Follow all instructions on site, including proper placement of white goods and scrap metal.
  • Refrigerators and freezers must be empty of all food and other items. Shelving should be disposed of with normal refuse unless made of metal.
  • Material must be no greater than 3 feet in any dimension.
