Kauaʻi police urge the public to call the non-emergency number as a technical issue is currently affecting some 911 calls.

In certain cases, callers may hear the dispatcher, but the dispatcher is unable to hear the caller, according to the Kauaʻi Police Department.

As a precaution, the public is encouraged to use the following alternative numbers for non-emergencies or in the event they experience difficulty reaching 911:

  • (808) 755-8516
  • (808) 652-7837

Hawaiian Telcom is actively working to resolve the problem. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
