Kauaʻi County Solid Waste Division says staffing issues have again resulted in no residential trash collection in several Garden Isle communities, today in the areas of Kekaha, Waimea, Hanapēpē and ʻEleʻele.

Trash originally scheduled to be collected July 21 from residential areas of Kekaha and Waimea might not be picked up today because of a minimum crew using small modified trucks.

Additionally, trash not collected today in the Hanapēpē and ʻEleʻele areas is estimated to be picked up July 24 or 25.

Solid Waste Division officials anticipate trash will be collected in those residential areas no later than the latter half of this week.

Residents are advised to leave their rubbish bins out, as trash could be collected before the estimated pickup time later this week.

“Mahalo for your patience and understanding during this time,” Kauaʻi County Solid Waste said in its notification.
