Bomb squad called to Wailua Golf Course after suspicious device found in parking lot
No injuries were reported after a suspicious device was found at the Wailua Golf Course.
The Kaua‘i Police Department responded to the golf course on Wednesday at approximately 2 p.m. after receiving a call from a golf member stating they had discovered what looked like a “hand grenade” at the base of a palm tree at the golf course parking lot.
According to police officials, the bomb squad was dispatched to the scene to investigate. They quickly secured the area with yellow tape, and it was later determined that the object did not contain any explosive material.
There was no disruption to golf course operations, officials at Wailua Golf Course confirmed this morning.
The scene was cleared by 4 p.m.
