Garden Isle motorists are advised that road work and shifted lanes will continue on a portion of ʻUmi Street in Līhu‘e for most of the remainder of this month, weather permitting.

Kaua‘i County Department of Public Works and contractor Unlimited Construction report that the adjusted traffic pattern, between Rice Street and Hardy Street, will be in place from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through July 28.

The shifted lanes are necessary to accommodate electrical work for the Rice Street Apartments Workforce Housing Project.

Motorists should plan accordingly.

Allow extra travel time if you must drive through the area during work hours. Avoid parking in the work zones.

Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic.
