Scheduled Kaua‘i lane closures on state roadways for July 5-11

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures and road work projects for state roadways on the Garden Isle during the week of July 5-11.

KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 50)

KĪPŪ

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 1.9 and 2.9, in the vicinity of Anonui Street and Kīpū Road, from midnight to 6 a.m. July 7-11 for cutting grass and guardrail clearing.

KĪPŪ TO ʻŌMAʻO

• ROVING LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 2.9 and 8.7, in the vicinity of Kīpū Road and ʻŌmaʻo Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. July 6-11 for striping.

ʻŌMAʻO

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE in the eastbound direction between mile posts 7.9 and 8.2, in the vicinity of Pūneʻe Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 7-11 for tree trimming

KAUMAKANI TO WAIMEA

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 18.9 and 21.8, in the vicinity of Kaumakani Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 7-11 for clearing vegetation and fire break maintenance.

KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (HIGHWAYS 56/560)

LĪHU‘E

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE in the northbound direction between mile posts 4 and 4.5, in the vicinity of Kauaʻi Beach Road and Wailua Golf Course, from 1 to 6:30 a.m. July 8-10 for cutting grass.

KAPAʻA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 8 and 9.5, in the vicinity of ʻAkia Road to Keālia Lookout, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. July 6-11 for resurfacing, concrete and electrical work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0 and 2, in the vicinity of Emmalani Drive and Hanalei River, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 7-11 for cutting grass.

HANALEI

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the Hāʻena-bound direction between mile posts 2.7 and 3.3, from Tahiti Nui and ʻAnae Road, between 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 7-11 for concrete work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the Hāʻena-bound direction between mile posts 2.7 and 3.3, from Tahiti Nui and ʻAnae Road, between 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. July 7-11 for concrete work and paving. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

WAIKOKO

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 4.3 and 4.5, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahaʻi Trailhead, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for slope stabilization of Waikoko Hillside. HALEWILI ROAD (HIGHWAY 540)

WAHIAWĀ

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0 and 2, in the vicinity of Kauwai Street and McBride New Mill Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 7-11 for vegetation clearing and fire break maintenance.

WAIMEA CANYON DRIVE (HIGHWAY 550)

KŌKE‘E

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 4.6 and 11.5 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. July 7 for best management practices installation and shoulder stabilization.

KUAMOʻO ROAD (HIGHWAY 580)

WAILUA HOMESTEADS

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.1 and 4, in the vicinity of ʻOhana Street and Hawaiiana Street, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. July 6-11 for striping and marker installation.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 1.7 and 4, in the vicinity of Kahawai Place and Hawaiiana Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 7-11 for striping and marker installation.
