Kauaʻi County Department of Water reminds customers in Hanalei and the ʻAnini Beach areas that a water conservation request put into place now 3 months ago remains in effect because of a pump failure April 4 at the Maka Ridge Well in Hanalei.

While a contractor is working on the repairs, the department kindly requests customers continue to limit water use as much as possible.

Water conservation measures include turning off appliances and fixtures that automatically draw water, such as ice machines and irrigation systems, as well as refraining from washing cars.

An update will be provided when the conservation request is lifted.
