Public invited to upcoming East Kaua‘i Community and Circulation Plan workshops
Kaua‘i County Planning Department invites community members to participate in a series of upcoming focused workshops for the East Kaua‘i Community and Circulation Plan.
The workshops are part of the department’s ongoing public engagement program.

The East Kaua‘i Community and Circulation Plan is a long-range initiative that addresses land use, transportation, infrastructure, housing and more.
It also emphasizes community priorities such as climate resilience and protection of cultural and historic resources.
“This planning process is about listening and learning together,” said Kaua‘i County Planning Director Ka‘āina Hull in an announcement about the upcoming workshops. “We encourage all East Kaua‘i residents to be part of the conversation.”
Each workshop will focus on a specific priority topic and include interactive opportunities for community feedback.
Dinner will be provided during each event.
Upcoming workshops:
- Workshop No. 3 Housing and Infrastructure: 5 to 7 p.m. July 8; Kalukalu Economic Resilience Center, 1624 Kūhiō Highway, Kapa‘a.
- Workshop No. 4 Transportation: 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 12; Kalukalu Economic Resilience Center, 1624 Kūhiō Highway, Kapa‘a.
- Workshop No. 5 Parks, Recreation and Economic Development: 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 16; location to be determined.
Workshop materials will be made available online for those unable to attend the workshops in person.
This workshop series builds upon previous community engagement efforts, which included a public open house and survey conducted last summer as well as a multi-day design workshop last October.
