UPDATE: Coconut Marketplace burglary suspect located and arrested without incident
Update at 11:44 a.m. July 2, 2025: Kaua‘i Police Department reports that 25-year-old Sione Tuulangavalu from Anahola, the suspect in a burglary last week at a Coconut Marketplace business in Kapa‘a, was located and taken into custody without incident today because of valuable information provided by the community.

Tuulangavalu was arrested for:
- Second-degree burglary.
- Second-degree theft.
- Habitual property crime.
His bail is set at $21,000, and he is being detained in the Kaua‘i Police Department cellblock.
Kaua‘i Police Department thanks those who came forward with information that helped bring this case to a swift resolution.
Update at 4:44 p.m. July 1, 2025: Kaua‘i Police Department reports that the suspect seen in video surveillance alleged to have been involved last week in a burglary at a Coconut Marketplace business in Kapa‘a was identified as 25-year-old Sione Tuulangavalu from Anahola.
A warrant was issued for Tuulangavalu’s arrest.
He is 6-foot-3, about 220 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.
Police thank the community for providing information that led to identifying the suspect.

Original post from 1 p.m. June 28, 2025: Kaua‘i Police Department is asking the public for help with identifying a suspect involved in a burglary earlier this week at a Coconut Marketplace business in Kapa‘a.

The incident happened during the early morning hours of June 23 at Ayatar Boutique. An estimated $14,500 in jewelry was stolen.
Officers reviewed surveillance footage showing a lone suspect entering the store through a window and taking the items.
The suspect was wearing a black hoodie jacket with the word “Kaua‘i” in white letters, black pants and footwear resembling Crocs.
A still image of the suspect is being released to aid in the identification process.
Anyone who recognizes the individual or has information related to this incident is urged to contact Kaua‘i Police Department at 808-241-1711.
