Hawai‘i State Junior Golf Association First Tee Hawai‘i announces winners of Wailua Challenge
Hawai‘i State Junior Golf Association First Tee Hawai‘i hosted the first Wailua Challenge from June 27-28 at Wailua Golf Course on the beautiful east shore of Kaua‘i.

A total of 38 junior golfers from throughout the islands teed up for the event.
Age division, par, approximate yardage and winners of each division were:
- GIRLS 11-12, Par 72, Gold Markers (5,203 yards): Madison Sur of Honolulu.
- GIRLS 13-14, Par 73, Red Markers (5,852 yards): Makena Yonemura of Waipahu, Oʻahu.
- GIRLS 15-18, Par 73, Red Markers (5,852 yards): Samantha Monroe of Honolulu.
- BOYS 11-12, Par 72, Gold Markers (5,203 yards): Carter Crouse of ʻAiea, Oʻahu.
- BOYS 13-14, Par 72, White Markers (6,613 yards): Caleb Ito of Lāwaʻi.
- BOYS 15-18, Par 72, White Markers (6,613 yards): Mathias Mafi of Honolulu.
The tournament awarded points for Hawai‘i State Junior Golf Association First Tee Hawai‘i Player of the Year and the season race to the coveted Hawai‘i State Junior Golf Association Championship on Kaua‘i in December — an event that is by invitation only to top finishers on the Hawai‘i State Junior Golf Association points list throughout the season.

BOYS 13-14
- Shane Murphy, Kōloa, second.
- Ayven Labuguen, Kapaʻa, third.
- Royal Ridings, Līhuʻe, fourth.
- Kai Taylor, Līhuʻe, fifth.
BOYS 15-18
- Logan Laymon, Kapaʻa, eighth.
- Jayvin Raquel, Anahola, ninth.
- Carter Parmelee, Līhuʻe, 10th.
- Stirling McLoughlin, Kōloa, 11th.
- Renyn Lee, Kapaʻa, 12th.
GIRLS 11-12
- Emi Sayegusa, Kalāheo, fifth.
GIRLS 13-14
- Lauryn Lee, Kapaʻa, fourth.
