Road work and lane closures continue through Sept. 22 on Wāwae Road in Lāwa‘i

The public is reminded that road work and lane closures on a portion of Wāwae Road in Lāwa‘i are scheduled to continue from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, on weekdays through Sept. 22.

Crews with project contractor Earthworks Pacific are working on drainage improvements and remediation to the asphalt surfaces along a portion of the road from about 15 feet from the intersection of Wāwae Road and Kaumuali‘i Highway, extending mauka about 950 linear feet.

Access to properties is provided. Motorists should observe and obey all traffic controls, posted signs and flaggers.

Drivers also should anticipate lane and road closure delays, use alternate routes if possible and allow for extra travel time while driving through the work zone.
