Two men taken into custody on Kaua‘i for sex assault charges
Two men are facing sexual assault charges against two juveniles that occurred earlier this month in Hanamā‘ulu.
The incident was reported on June 3. Following an investigation by Kaua‘i Police Department, 28-year-old Rober Clement and 27-year-old Patelo Paseka were identified as suspects. Arrest warrants were subsequently issued for both individuals for first-degree sexual assault, with bail set at $100,000 each.

Clement was arrested on Friday, and Paseka was taken into custody on June 23.
Chief Kalani Ke commended detectives for their work on the case.
“They started with very little information or leads, but through persistence and skilled investigation, they identified and arrested those responsible,” Ke said in a press release Tuesday.
The United States Marshals Service assisted in the apprehension of one of the suspects.
“We remain firmly committed to supporting the Kaua‘i Police Department and the community in holding violent offenders accountable,” said Justin Davis, United States Marshal for the District of Hawai‘i. “Our ongoing partnership with KPD reflects our shared dedication to protecting the most vulnerable in our communities.”
