Scheduled Kaua‘i lane closures on state roadways for June 21-27

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures and road work projects for state roadways on the Garden Isle during the week of June 21-27.

KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 50)

KĪPŪ TO ʻŌMAʻO

  • ROVING LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 2.9 and 8.7 in the vicinity of Kīpū Road and ʻŌmaʻo Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. June 22-27 for striping.

KĪPŪ

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction at mile post 4.3 in the vicinity of Hulēʻia/Halfway Bridge from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 25 for routine bridge inspection.

ʻŌMAʻO TO KALĀHEO

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 9 and 12, in the vicinity of Upa Road and Ola Pua Road, from 12:30 and 5:30 a.m. June 23-25 and 27 for cutting grass and guardrail clearing.
  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 9 and 12, in the vicinity of Upa Road and Ola Pua Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 23-27 for cutting grass.

NĀWILIWILIL ROAD/KAPULE HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 51)

NĀWILIWILI

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.0 and 0.9, in the vicinity of Kapule Highway and Waʻapā Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 23 for cutting grass.

LĪHU‘E

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.0 and 0.9, in the vicinity of Hehi Road and the Hanamaʻulu Stream viaduct, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 26 for routine bridge inspection.

LĪHU‘E

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 5.0 and 5.5, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Wailua State Park Road, from 1 to 6:30 a.m. June 24 and 26 for cutting grass.

WAILUA

  • FULL CLOSURE on the makai Wailua Bridge (Bryan J. Baptiste Memorial Bridge) between mile posts 5.6 and 5.9 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. June 23-24 for mobilization of equipment. Traffic will be routed to the mauka Wailua bridge. Details: Click here.
  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 6.2 and 6.4, in the vicinity of Papaloa Road to Lanikai Street, from 8 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 22-27 for construction along the highway.

KAPAʻA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 8 and 9.5, in the vicinity of ʻAkia Road to Keālia Lookout, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. June 22-27 for resurfacing, concrete and electrical work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KAPAʻA TO KEĀLIA

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE in the northbound direction between mile posts 9.3 and 11, in the vicinity of Kawaihau Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. June 23-27 for guardrail repair.

ANAHOLA TO MOLOAʻA

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 15 and 17, in the vicinity of ʻAliomanu Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 23-27 for cutting grass.

KīLAUEA TO KALIHIWAI

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 23.3 and 23.8, in the vicinity of Kolo Road and Kalihiwai Road, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. June 23-25 and 27 for roundabout construction.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.3 and 1.2 from Hanalei Plantation Road and ʻŌhiki Road between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. June 23-27 for pipe and gutter installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HANALEI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the westbound direction between mile posts 2.7 and 3.3 from the Hanalei Post Office and ʻAnae Road between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. June 23-27 for drain line work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the Hāʻena-bound direction between mile posts 3.1 and 3.4, from Old School House Road and Kumu Road, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. June 25 for waterline connection.

WAIKOKO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 4.3 and 4.5, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahaʻi Trailhead, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for slope stabilization of Waikoko Hillside. Traffic signal will control alternating traffic through the open lane. Details: Click here.

HALEWILI ROAD (HIGHWAY 540)

WAHIAWĀ

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 3.11 and 3.13 in the vicinity of Wahiawā Stream Bridge, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 24 for routine bridge inspection.

WAIMEA CANYON DRIVE (HIGHWAY 550)

KŌKE‘E

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE in the northbound direction between mile posts 4.6 and 11.5 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. June 23-27 for setting up temporary construction signs.
  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 7.5 and 8 through noon today (June 21) for tree trimming.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 11.5 and 14 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. June 23-27 for shoulder stabilization, grassing, guardrail work and striping. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KUAMOʻO ROAD (HIGHWAY 580)

WAILUA HOMESTEADS

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE in the northbound direction between mile posts 0.0 and 2, in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway and Kahawai Place, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 23-27 for cutting grass.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.1 and 4, in the vicinity of ‘Ohana Street and Hawaiiana Street, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. June 23-27 for striping and marker installation.

MA‘ALO ROAD (HIGHWAY 583)

KAPAIA

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 3.5 and 3.8 through 2:30 p.m. today (June 21) for cutting grass.
