Kaua‘i Fire crews douse 2-acre brush fire in Kekaha

There were no injuries reported following a brush fire in Kekaha that scorched two acres of land.

Kaua‘i Fire Department responded to the blaze near the bottom of Kōke‘e Road just before 8 a.m. Crews with the Waimea and Hanapepe fire stations, Rescue 3, tanker 1, the on-duty Battalion Chief, private landowners, and the Kaua‘i Police Department also responded.

The Kaua‘i Emergency Management Agency and the Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative also monitored the incident.

As of 11:50 a.m., the fire was out and state officials remain on scene to monitor hot spots.

There were no reports of threats to nearby structures and no reports of injuries.
