Kaua‘i Police Department welcomes 3 new officers to the force

Three officers stepped into service on Monday after graduating from the Kaua‘i Police Department’s 101st police recruit class.

Raffy Perono, Summer Juniel and Trejontierre Juniel took their official Oath of Office during a ceremony attended by loved ones and community members. The milestone event marked their transition from recruits to full-duty officers committed to serving the people of Kaua‘i.

“As you begin this career, remember that every time you wear this badge, you stand as a protector and role model for our community,” said Chief of Police Todd Raybuck. “You are now part of something larger than yourself. Congratulations, and welcome to the team.”

This graduation ceremony marks the culmination of six months of comprehensive classroom instruction and real-world scenarios. Following graduation, each officer is paired with a seasoned field training officer for a six-month shadowing period.

Recruitment for the force is ongoing.

The salary for a police officer ranges from approximately $72,000 to over $118,000 and includes a benefit package. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license and a minimum age of 20 years.
