Three hikers rescued near Kalalau Beach along the Nā Pali Coast on Thursday

First responders on Thursday rescued an injured 42-year-old North Carolina visitor, an injured Oʻahu resident and a 60-year-old Oʻahu resident suffering from exhaustion near Kalalau Beach along the Nā Pali Coast, according to the Kauaʻi Fire Department.

Fire department personnel received a report of injured hikers on the Kalalau Trail shortly before 8:45 a.m. on Thursday.

A rescue crew aboard the Air 1 helicopter, Hanalei Fire Station firefighters and personnel with American Medical Response responded.

Upon arrival, firefighters located two hikers with apparent leg injuries and a distressed hiker.

Rescuers loaded the hikers into the helicopter and transported them to Princeville Airport, where fire personnel assisted in transferring care to medics around 12:15 p.m.

First responders made at least three rescues along the Nā Pali coast last month.
