Goodwill to host reuse collection event later this week in Līhu‘e

The next Goodwill Industries of Hawai‘i reuse collection event is planned for the end of this week.

Residents, businesses and other organizations can bring unwanted or unneeded items for reuse to Kaua‘i Resource Center in Līhu‘e from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 30.

Accepted items include:

  • Clothing.
  • Small furniture.
  • Children’s toys.
  • Books.
  • Shoes.

Note: Clothing and textiles do not need to be in good condition; torn or stained clothing is OK.

Do not bring:

  • eWaste.
  • Chemicals.
  • Appliances.
  • Broken items.

The public is encouraged to check with local thrift stores to see if they take donations before bringing items to the Kaua‘i Resource Center.

Because of health and safety concerns, heavy equipment in the area and in an effort to reduce the chance of injury to customers unloading heavy items, Goodwill requests those dropping items off remain in their vehicles while at the center.

Thrift stores and businesses are asked to call 808-241-4838 to schedule pickup service.

Resident’s requiring home pickup can contact the Habitat for Humanity ReStore at 808-335-6105 or RP’s Random Closet — a for-profit agency — at 808-346-0020.
