Water conservation request remains in place after 6 weeks for Hanalei, ʻAnini Beach area

An ongoing water conservation request for customers in Hanalei and the ʻAnini Beach area remains in place now 6 weeks after it was first issued April 4.

Kauaʻi County Department of Water officials report the conservation request will continue to remain in place until further notice.

The department is still gathering the necessary contractor services, equipment and components to make the necessary repairs to a water system pump station that experienced a mechanical failure.

Customers in the two North Shore communities are asked to continue water conservation efforts to maintain services and avoid a full service outage.

Water conservation measures include:

  • Turning off appliances and fixtures that automatically draw water.
  • Refraining from car washing.

Weekly notices are provided via the Wireless Emergency Notification System, Kauaʻi County’s emergency notification system. Visit the Kaua‘i Emergency Management Agency website and click “Notification Services” to sign up.

An update will be provided when the conservation request is lifted.
