Registration for 2025 Summer Fun swimming, golf programs opens soon

Garden Isle keiki are encouraged to stay active and get out of the house this summer by participating in Kaua‘i County Department of Parks and Recreation’s 2025 Summer Fun Program.

Here are details about upcoming swim lessons and this year’s golf program.

Registration for free Summer Fun swim lessons begins May 24

Registration for Summer Fun swim lessons opens at 3 p.m. May 24 at the Waimea and Kapa‘a swimming pools for keiki ages 5 to 11 years old.

The free program is on a first-come, first-served basis and limited to 20 participants per class, per session.

There are two sessions available:

• Session 1 runs June 3-27.
• Session 2 runs July 1-25.

Those who participate have two class options:

• Class 1 beginner from 10 to 11 a.m.
• Class 2 advanced from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Each session will conclude with a graduation celebration:

• Session 1 graduation is 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 28.
• Session 2 graduation is 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 26.

Registration for Summer Fun Golf Program begins June 9

Boys and girls ages 7 to 15 years old looking to spend some time on the links this summer should mark their calendars and make sure their parents know that registration begins for the 2025 Summer Fun Golf Program from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 9 at Wailua Golf Pro Shop.

Participants are required to have the necessary minimum equipment:

• Putter.
• 5 iron.
• 7 iron.
• 9 iron.
• Wedge.
• Driver.
• Golf bag.

There will be three sessions:

• Session 1 will run 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, June 16-27.
• Session 2 will run 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, June 30-July 11, except July 4.
• Session 3 will run 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, July 14-25.

Enrollment is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Cost is $35 per child.

Attire is casual wear with sports shoes. No soccer, baseball or spiked golf shoes will be allowed.

Parents and guardians are responsible for providing keiki with snacks and beverages. Sun protection is recommended.
