Intermittent lane closures extended on Puʻuwai Road, Poʻohiwi Road in Kalāheo

Kauaʻi County Department of Water and contractor Hawaiian Dredging Construction Co. notify the public that intermittent lane closures on portions of Puʻuwai Road and Poʻohiwi Road in Kalāheo have been extended.

These lane closures are necessary as work on the Kalāheo Water Systems Improvements Project moves forward. The following areas will continue to be affected, weather permitting:

• Intersection of Kikala Road and Puʻuwai Road through July 1.
• Poʻohiwi Road through Sept. 30.
• Intersection of Poʻohiwi Road and Puʻuwai Road through Sept. 30.
• Gravel portion of Puʻuwai Road through Oct. 29.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution when driving through these areas; follow directions of flaggers, who are posted in the locations; and adhere to posted signs.

Department of Water officials thank the Garden Isle for its continued patience and cooperation during the ongoing improvement project.
