Scheduled Kauaʻi lane closures on state roadways for May 3 to May 9

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures and road work projects for state roadways on the Garden Isle during the week of May 3 to May 9.
KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 50)
KĪPŪ TO LĀWAʻI
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 2.9 and 8.7, in the vicinity of Kīpū Road and Puwai Reservoir, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. May 4 through Friday, May 9, for striping.
KEKAHA
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 24.3 and 24.4, in the vicinity of Kīkī‘ola Boat Harbor, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 5, to May 9, for striping and marker installation.
KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (HIGHWAYS 56/560)
LĪHU‘E TO HANAMĀʻULU
- RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.5 and 2.6, in the vicinity of ‘Ehiku Street and Kapule Highway, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 5 through May 9 for cutting grass.
WAILUA
- RIGHT LANE CLOSURE in the northbound direction between mile posts 6.2 and 6.5, in the vicinity Papaloa Road and Kapaa Bypass Road, from 8 p.m. Thursday, May 8, through 4 a.m. Friday, May 9, for concrete barrier installation.

- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 8 and 9.5, in the vicinity of ‘Akia Road to Keālia lookout, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. May 4 through May 9 for resurfacing, concrete, and electrical work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
- 4) KALIHIWAI (NIGHT WORK)Right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 24 to 25, on Monday, May 5, Wednesday, May 7, and Friday, May 9, from 1 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for cleaning culverts

- RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 24 to 25, from 1 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. on Monday, May 5, Wednesday, May 7, and Friday, May 9, for cleaning culverts
KĀLIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE
- RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 25 and 28, in the vicinity of Ka Haku Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 4 through May 9 for cutting grass.
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 24.4 and 28.1, in the vicinity of Kālihiholo Road and ‘Emmalania Drive, from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. May 4 through May 9 for replacement of signs and markers.
PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 0.3 and 1.2, in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and ‘Ohiki Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 5 through May 9 for pipe and gutter installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the westbound direction between mile posts 2.8 and 3.3, in the vicinity of Mālolo Road and ‘Anae Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 5 through May 9 for sidewalk installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
HANALEI TO WAIKOKO
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 3.3 and 4.3, in the vicinity of Waikoko Stream Bridge and Waiʻoli Stream Bridge, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. May 5 through May 9 for paving. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
WAIKOKO
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 4.3 and 4.5, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahaʻi Trailhead, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for slope stabilization of Waikoko Hillside. - SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 11.5 and 14 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 5 through May 9 for shoulder stabilization, guardrail work and striping. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
KUAMOʻO ROAD (HIGHWAY 580)

- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 1.7 and 4, in the vicinity of Kahawai Place and Hawaiiana Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 5 through May 9 for striping and marker installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
TEMPORARY KAPAʻA BYPASS ROAD (ROUTE 5600)
KAPAʻA
- FULL CLOSURE between mile post 0.0 to 0.7, in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway and Olohena Road, on Wednesday, May 7, and Thursday, May 8, for resurfacing work. Details: Click here.
