Scheduled Kaua‘i lane closures on state roadways for April 26-May 2

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures and road work projects for state roadways on the Garden Isle during the week of April 26 to May 2.

KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 50)

KĪPŪ TO LĀWAʻI

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 2.9 and 8.7, in the vicinity of Kīpū Road and Piwai Reservoir, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 27 through May 2 for striping.

KALĀHEO

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE in the eastbound direction between mile posts 12.2 and 13, in the vicinity of Halewili Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 28 through May 2 for tree trimming.

RICE STREET (HIGHWAY 51)

NĀWILIWILI

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.2 and 0.3, in the vicinity of Kalapaki Road and Hoʻolauleʻa Way, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 28 through May 2 for cleaning rain gutters and inlets.

KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (HIGHWAYS 56/560)

LĪHU‘E TO HANAMĀʻULU

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.5 and 2.6, in the vicinity of ‘Ehiku Street and Kapule Highway, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 28 through May 2 for cutting grass.

WAILUA

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE in the southbound direction between mile posts 5.7 and 5.9, in the vicinity of the Wailua Bridge, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 28 for high voltage power line installation.

KAPA‘A

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 8 and 9.5, in the vicinity of ‘Akia Road to Keālia lookout, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 27 through May 2 for resurfacing, concrete, and electrical work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KĀLIHIWAI TO PRINCVILLE

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 25 and 28, in the vicinity of Ka Haku Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 30 through May 2 for cutting grass.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 24.4 and 28.1, in the vicinity of Kālihiholo Road and ‘Emmalania Drive, from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. April 27 through May 2 for replacement of signs and markers.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 0.3 and 1.2, in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and ‘Ohiki Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 28 through May 2 for pipe and gutter installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HANALEI

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the westbound direction between mile posts 2.8 and 3.3, in the vicinity of Mālolo Road and ‘Anae Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 28 through May 2 for sidewalk installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HANALEI TO WAIKOKO

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 3.3 and 4.3, in the vicinity of Waikoko Stream Bridge and Waiʻoli Stream Bridge, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 28 through May 2 for paving. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

WAIKOKO

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 4.3 and 4.5, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahaʻi Trailhead, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for slope stabilization of Waikoko Hillside. LUMAHAʻI TO WAINIHA

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 5.5 and 6.7, in the vicinity of ʻAla ʻEke Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 28-29 for cutting grass.

NĀWILIWILI ROAD (HIGHWAY 58)

NĀWILIWILI

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.3 and 0.6 between Niumalu Road and Lala Road from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 28 through May 2 for cleaning gutters and outlets.

HALEWILI ROAD (HIGHWAY 540)

‘ELE‘ELE

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 1.5 and 2, in the vicinity of McBride New Mill Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 28 through May 2 for vegetation clearing.

WAIMEA CANYON DRIVE (HIGHWAY 550)

KŌKE‘E

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 11.5 and 14 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 28 through May 2 for shoulder stabilization, guardrail work and striping. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KUAMOʻO ROAD (HIGHWAY 580)

WAILUA HOMESTEADS

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 1.7 and 4, in the vicinity of Kahawai Place and Hawaiiana Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 28 through May 2 for striping and marker installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

MA‘ALO ROAD (HIGHWAY 583)

KAPAIA

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 1 and 2.5, in the vicinity of Cane Road, until 2:30 p.m. April 26 for cutting grass.
