Update: Police non-emergency line restored; other various Kaua‘i County phone lines down
Update at 11:43 a.m. April 25: Kaua‘i Police Department reports that service to its normal non-emergency line at 808-241-1711 was restored and is now fully operational.
The 9-1-1 system remains fully functional.
Kaua‘i County officials also report that various other county phone lines and voicemails are currently down because of phone outages.
The public is advised to click here and email government services while phone issues persist.
Kaua‘i County Information Technology Division is actively monitoring the situation.
Any relevant updates will be shared as more information becomes available.
Original post from 10:51 a.m. April 25: Kaua‘i Police Department notifies the public about the following alternative contact numbers for non-emergency situations following a temporary disruption in phone service.
The department’s normal non-emergency line at 808-241-1711 was down for a second time today (April 25) as of about 10:30 a.m. The outage is only affecting non-emergency phone services.
Fortunately; 9-1-1 remains fully operational.
The alternative non-emergency contact phone numbers are:
- 808-755-8516.
- 808-652-7837.
Kaua‘i Police Department’s regular non-emergency line and 9-1-1 line also experienced a brief service interruption at about 9 a.m. today.
Both lines were restored until the non-emergency line was interrupted again about an hour and a half later.
Police encourage the public to note the alternative contact numbers for non-emergency situations as a precaution in the event situations such as today’s or worse unfold in the future.
Kaua‘i County’s Information Technology Division is actively monitoring the situation. Any relevant updates will be shared as more information becomes available.
