Community invited to give feedback on draft Kauaʻi Climate Adaptation and Action Plan
Community members are invited to offer input and feedback on the recently released draft Kauaʻi Climate Adaptation and Action Plan.

Several open houses are planned in May:
- MAY 2: An in-person open house and student film screening on climate change from 5 to 7:45 p.m. in the Kauaʻi Community College Fine Arts room, featuring informational booths by local organizations as well as a brief panel discussion.
- MAY 6: An in-person open house by the Waipā Foundation from 5 to 7 p.m. at Keanolani Hale.
- MAY 13: An in-person open house and East Kaua‘i Community and Circulation Plan Climate Change Hazards Workshop from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Kalukalu Economic Resilience Center, located at 1624 Kūhiō Highway, in Kapa‘a, during which the public can also join in a discussion about climate change adaptation strategies for East Kaua‘i.
- MAY 15: An in-person open house from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hanapēpē Public Library.
The Kaua‘i Climate Adaptation and Action Plan, drafted by Kaua‘i County Planning Department throughout several years, is an action-driven plan with 79 strategies to prepare for climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
“We are deeply grateful for the hundreds of residents, partners and stakeholders who have participated in the multi-year process to create the plan,” said Kaua‘i County Planning Director Kaaina Hull in an announcement about the upcoming open houses. “This marks an important milestone in our ongoing effort to ensure a climate-resilient future for Kauaʻi.”
