Scheduled Kaua‘i lane closures on state roadways for April 5-11

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures and road work projects for state roadways on the Garden Isle during the week of April 5-11.

KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 50)

LĪHU‘E TO PUHI

  • ROVING LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0 and 1.7, in the vicinity of Rice Street and Puhi Road, from 12:30 to 4:30 a.m. April 7-11 for installation of raised pavement markers.

KĪPŪ TO ʻŌMAʻO

  • SHOULDER CLOSURE and TRAFFIC SHIFT possible in either direction between mile posts 2.9 and 8.7, in the vicinity of Kīpū Road and ‘Ōma‘o Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 7-11 for striping work.

KEKAHA

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 24.37 and 24.46, in the vicinity of Kikiaola Boat Harbor, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for replacement of culverts and paving. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane. Details: Click here.

RICE STREET (HIGHWAY 51)

KĪPŪ TO KŌLOA

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.2 and 0.7, in the vicinity of Kalapaki Road and Mōkōi Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 7-11 for grass trimming and clearing of gutters.

KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (HIGHWAYS 56/560)

WAILUA

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE in the southbound direction between mile posts 6.28 and 6.29, in the vicinity Haleʻīlio Road, from 1 to 6:30 a.m. April 7 for installation of traffic markings.

KAPA‘A

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 8 and 9.5, in the vicinity of ‘Akia Road and St. Catherine’s, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 6-11 for resurfacing, concrete and electrical work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KĀLIHIWAI

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 24 and 25, in the vicinity of Kālihiwai Road, from 1 to 6:30 a.m. April 7-9 for cleaning of drains.
  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE in the northbound direction between mile posts 24.5 and 25, in the vicinity of Kāhiliholo Road, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. April 7 and 9-10 for guardrail repair.
  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE in the northbound direction between mile posts 24.9 and 25 from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. April 7-10 for guardrail repair.

KĀLIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE

  • ROVING SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 24.4 and 28.1, in the vicinity of Kālihiholo Road and ‘Emmalania Drive, from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. April 7-11 a for replacement of signs and markers.

PRINCEVILLE

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 26 to 27, in the vicinity of ‘Anini Vista Drive, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. April 8-9 for guardrail repair.
  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 27 and 28, in the vicinity of Ka Haku Road, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. April 10-11 for guardrail repair.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.3 and 1.2, in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and ‘Ohiki Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 7-11 for drain line and gutter installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

  • ROVING RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 1 and 8, in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and Alealea Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 7-11 for cutting grass.

HANALEI

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE in the westbound direction between mile posts 2.8 and 3.3, in the vicinity of Mālolo Road and ‘Anae Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 7-11 for sidewalk installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HANALEI TO WAIKOKO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 3.3 and 4.3, in the vicinity of Kumu Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 7-11 for paving. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

WAIKOKO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 4.3 and 4.5, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahaʻi Trailhead, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for slope stabilization of Waikoko Hillside.   • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 6.4 and 6.7 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 9-10 for installation of a speed table.

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 9.3 and 9.5 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 7-8 for clearing the edge of the pavement and culverts.

HALEWILI ROAD (HIGHWAY 540)

KALĀHEO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0 and 1, in the vicinity of Kaumuali‘i Highway, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 7-11 for striping and marking installation.

‘ELE‘ELE

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 2.5 and 3.7, in the vicinity of McBride New Mill Road and Hūʻehu Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 7-11 for vegetation clearing.

WAIMEA CANYON DRIVE (HIGHWAY 550)

KŌKE‘E

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 11.5 and 14 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 7-11 for shoulder stabilization, guardrail work and striping. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KUAMOʻO ROAD (HIGHWAY 580)

WAILUA HOMESTEADS

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 1.7 and 4, in the vicinity of Kahawai Place and Hawaiiana Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 7-11 for striping and marker installation.

MA‘ALO ROAD (HIGHWAY 583)

KAPAIA

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 1 and 2 through 2:30 p.m. today (April 5) for grass cutting.
