Scheduled Kaua‘i lane closures on state roadways for March 29 through April 4

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures and road work projects for state roadways on the Garden Isle during the week of March 29 through April 4.

KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 50)

KĪPŪ TO KŌLOA

  • SHOULDER CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 2.9 and 5.2, in the vicinity of Kīpū Road and Kāhili Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 31 through April 4 for striping.

KŌLOA

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 6 and 7, in the vicinity of Kāhili Wai Street, from 12:30 to 5:30 a.m. April 2 for cutting grass.

HANAPĒPĒ

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 15.5 and 15.6, from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. March 30 through April 4 for striping.

KEKAHA

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE between mile posts 24.37 and 24.46, in the vicinity of Kikiaola Boat Harbor, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for replacement of culverts. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane. DETAILS: Click here.

KEKAHA TO MANA

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 26 and 32, in the vicinity of Kala Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 31 through April 4 for cutting grass and ditch cleaning.

NĀWILIWILI

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE in the northbound direction between mile posts 0.3 and 0.8, in the vicinity of Hoʻolauleʻa Way and Kapule Highway, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 31 through April 2 for cutting grass.

KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (HIGHWAYS 56/560)

LĪHU‘E

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0 and 0.3, in the vicinity of Rice Street and Poinciana Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 1-2 for clearing hau bush.
  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.0 and 0.5, in the vicinity of Rice Street and ‘Ehiku Street, from 1 to 6:30 a.m. April 1 for clearing grass.

HANAMĀ‘ULU

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 2.6 and 3.5, in the vicinity of Kapule Highway and Kaua‘i Beach Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 31 through April 4 for grass cutting.

WAILUA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 6.2 and 6.3, in the vicinity of Papaloa Road and Lanikai Street, from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. March 30 through April 4 for sign installation.

KAPA‘A TO KEĀLIA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 8.1 and 9.7, in the vicinity of ‘Akia Road and Mailihuna Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. March 30 through April 4 for resurfacing, concrete and electrical work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 23.1 and 23.8, in the vicinity of Kuawa Road and Kālihiwai Road, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. March 31 through April 4 for speed table installation.

KĀLIHIWAI

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 24 and 25, in the vicinity of Kālihiwai Road, from 1 to 6:30 a.m. April 3 for drain cleaning.

KĀLIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 24.4 and 28.1, in the vicinity of Kalihiholo Road and ‘Emmalani Drive, from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. March 30 through April 4 for sign and marker replacement.

HANALEI

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE between mile posts 1.3 and 1.7, in the vicinity of ʻŌhiki Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 31 through April 4 for cutting grass.
  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE in the westbound direction between mile posts 2.9 and 3.3 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 31 through April 4 for sidewalk installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HANALEI TO WAIKOKO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either directio between mile posts 3.3 and 4.3, in the vicinity of Kumu Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. March 31 through April 4 for paving. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

WAIKOKO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 4.3 and 4.5, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahai Trailhead, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for slope stabilization of Waikoko Hillside. HALEWILI ROAD (HIGHWAY 540)

KALĀHEO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0 and 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 31 through April 4 for striping and marker installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

WAIMEA CANYON DRIVE (HIGHWAY 550)

KŌKE‘E

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 11.5 and 14 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 31 through April 4 for shoulder stabilization, guardrail work and striping. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

MA‘ALO ROAD (HIGHWAY 583)

KAPAIA

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 2 and 3 through 2:30 p.m. today (March 29) for grass cutting.
