Mexico citizen found on roof, taking photos through Kīlauea home’s window
A 23-year-old Mexico citizen was arrested Monday by Kaua‘i police after he was found photographing the inside of a Kīlauea residence from ontop of its roof while peaking through a window.

Kaua‘i Police Department officers were dispatched at about 8 p.m. March 17 to the home in Kīlauea following a report of a suspicious person — who police were able to later identified as Luis Manterola of Mexico — on the roof.
Residents of the home discovered Manterola allegely taking photos of the inside fo the residence through a window. Responding officers successfully de-escalated the situation and took him into custody without incident.
Manterola — who refused to cooperate with police investigation — was arresteed for first-degree violation of privacy and is being detained at the Kaua‘i Police Department cellblock on $50,000 bail.
