County Engineering Division now offers road permit applications online

Kaua‘i County residents seeking a road permit can now do so without having to put rubber to the pavement.

A road permit is required for any work within a county right of way.

The county’s Department of Public Works Engineering Division recently launched an online application process for the permits on the Kaua‘i County website.

Visit the county’s forms and applications website, click “Sign Up” and create an account to get started.

Follow these steps once you sign up:

  • LOG IN to your account.
  • USE THE SEARCH BAR to find the road permit application form or click the “Public Works\Engineering” icon and select the “Road Permit Application” icon.
  • FOLLOW THE SYSTEM PROMPTS and tab through the application process.
  • UPLOAD ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS with the application, including: any applicable approved construction plans and traffic control plans; construction schedule; certificate of insurance naming Kaua‘i County as additional insured; and 3 emergency contacts.

Once the application is submitted, it will be reviewed by Engineering Division staff.

Customers will receive an automated email about the status of their application.

Residents can view their application’s progress while the permit is under review by logging back into county’s forms and applications website.

Paper applications are no longer accepted.
