Kaua‘i lane closure schedule for week of Feb. 8-14
Hawai‘i Department of Transportation officials announce the scheduled lane closures happening the week of Feb. 8-14 on Big Island roadways.
Motorists are reminded that schedules can change at any time, without notice. All projects also are weather permitting.

— KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 50) —
KIPU TO OMAO (NIGHT WORK)
Single lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 2.9 to 8.6, in the vicinity of Kipu Road and Omao Road, on Sunday, Feb. 9, through Mondayday, Feb. 10, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for clearing and grubbing work. Traffic in both directions will be maintained through alternating traffic control in the remaining lane. Should the Sunday night work be canceled due to weather, the closure and work will be rescheduled to Monday night.
KOLOA
Lane shift possible in either direction, between mile post 4.5 to 7, in the vicinity of Kahili Wai Street and Maluhia Road, on Monday, Feb. 10, through Friday, Feb. 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.
KEKAHA (24/7 CLOSURE)
Right lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 24.37 to 24.46, in the vicinity of Kikiaola Boat Harbor, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for replacement of culverts. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane. Details: Click here.
KEKAHA TO PACIFIC MISSILE RANGE FACILITY
Right lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 26 to 32, in the vicinity of Kala Road, on Monday, Feb. 10, through Friday, Feb. 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for vegetation clearing.
— KUHIO HIGHWAY (HIGHWAYS 56/560) —
HANAMAULU
Shoulder closure with lane shift possible in either direction, between mile post 1.2 to 1.8, in the vicinity of Kapaia Road and Laulima Street, on Monday, Feb. 10 through Friday, Feb. 14 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for hydro mulching on the shoulder.
KAPA‘A TO KEALIA (NIGHT WORK)
Single lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 8.1 to 9.7, in the vicinity of Akia Road and Mailihuna Road, on Sunday, Feb. 9 through Friday, Feb. 14, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for resurfacing, concrete and electrical work. Traffic will be alternated through the open lane.
KAPA‘A (NIGHT WORK)
Single lane closure in the northbound direction, between mile post 9 to 9.5, in the vicinity of Kawaihau Road, on Monday, Feb. 10 through Friday, Feb. 14, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for guardrail repair.
KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE (NIGHT WORK)
Single lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 24.4 to 25.6, in the vicinity of Kahiliholo Road and Anini Vista Drive near the Princeville Airport on Sunday, Feb. 9 through Friday, Feb. 14 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for cold planning and re-paving.
PRINCEVILLE
Right lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 25 to 28, in the vicinity of Ka Haku Road, on Monday, Feb. 10 through Friday, Feb. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.
WAIKOKO
Single lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 4.3 to 4.5, in the vicinity of Waikoko, on Monday, Feb. 10 through Friday, Feb. 7 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for preparing traffic signal for 24/7 lane closure. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
WAIKOKO
Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 4.3 to 4.5, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahai Trailhead, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, beginning Tuesday, Feb. 11 for slope stabilization of Waikoko Hillside.
