Complete closure of Kūhiō Highway scheduled near Lumahaʻi Bridge

Motorists on Kauaʻi are advised that Kūhiō Highway, between mile posts 5.5 and 5.8, will be closed in both directions near Lumahaʻi Bridge in the Wainiha area.

The closure is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Local traffic and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the work area.

Crews will be trimming and removing a hanging branch. Both lanes need to be temporarily closed for safety purposes and to have room for equipment to do the work.

Electronic message boards will be displayed and radio announcements made alerting motorists about the closure.

All work and closures are weather permitting.
