Scheduled Kaua‘i lane closures for Jan. 19-24

The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation notifies the public about its scheduled lane closures for Jan. 19-24 on Kaua‘i.

In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, on Monday, there will be no Kūhiō Highway contraflow or lane closures unless otherwise permitted.

Lane closures can change at any time without notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KAUMUALIʻI HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 50) —

1) PUHI TO KIPU (NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure possible in either direction from 1 to 5:30 a.m. Wednesday through Friday, Jan. 22-24 between mile post 1.9 and 4, in the vicinity of Anonui Street and Puuana Road, for grass cutting.

2) ‘ELE‘ELE (NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Halewili Road and Hanapēpē Road, from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Tuesday through Friday, Jan. 21-24 for sewer line trench paving.

3) HANAPĒPĒ TO WAIMEA

Roving shoulder closure possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Lele Road and Alawai Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, Jan. 21-24, for installation of raised pavement markings.

4) KEKAHA (24/7 CLOSURE)

Right lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 24.37 to 24.46, in the vicinity of Kikiaola Boat Harbor for replacement of culverts. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane. Click here for details.

1) LĪHU‘E TO KAPAIA (NIGHT WORK)

Left lane closure in the northbound direction, between mile post 0 to 1, in the vicinity of Rice Street and Laukini Road, from 2 to 6:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, for clearing of the traffic island.

2) LĪHU‘E (NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure in the northbound direction, between mile post 4 to 5.6, in the vicinity of Kaua’i Beach Road and Wailua State Park Road, from 2 to 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, for cutting grass.

3) KAPA‘A (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 8.1 to 9.7, in the vicinity of ʻĀkia Road and Mailihuna Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday, Jan. 20-24, for resurfacing, concrete and electrical work.

4) KAPA‘A TO KEĀLIA

Lane shift possible in either direction between mile post 9 to 10, in the vicinity of Kawaihau Road and Mailihuna Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 21-22, for guardrail repairs.

5) ANAHOLA TO MOLOĀ‘A

Right lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 14 to 16, in the vicinity of Aliomanu Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, Jan. 21-24, for grass cutting.

6) KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 24.4 to 25.6, in the vicinity of Kahiliholo Road and ʻAnini Vista Drive near the Princeville Airport, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday, Jan. 20-24, for cold planning and repaving.

7) WAIKOKO

Single lane closure possible in either direction, between mile post 4.3 to 4.5, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, Jan. 21-24, for clearing and grubbing of the mauka shoulder.

8) WAIKOKO 

Full closure between mile post 5.5 to 5.8, in the vicinity of Lumaha’i Bridge, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, for tree trimming and branch removal. Click here for details.

— HALEWILI ROAD (HIGHWAY 540) —

1) KALĀHEO

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 0 to 1.5 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, Jan. 21-24, for striping and marker installation.

2) ‘ELE‘ELE

Lane shift possible in either direction between mile post 2 to 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Jan. 23-24, for guardrail repairs.

— WAIMEA CANYON DRIVE (HIGHWAY 550) —

1) KŌKE‘E

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 11.5 to 14 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, Jan. 21-24, for shoulder stabilization, guardrail, and striping. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

— KUAMOʻO ROAD (HIGHWAY 580) —

1) WAILUA HOMESTEADS

Roving lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 1.7 to 4, in the vicinity of Kahawai Place and Waikolia Street, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Jan. 20-24, for survey work.

2) WAILUA HOMESTEADS

Right lane closure in the norhtbound direction between mile post 3 to 4.5, in the vicinity of Pokukala Street and ʻAina Pono Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, Jan. 21-24, for grass cutting.

— KAPA‘A TEMPORARY BYPASS ROAD (HIGHWAY 5600) —

1) KAPA‘A
