Kauaʻi agricultural producers invited to upcoming conservation resource workshops
Are you interested in conservation for your farm or land?
Kauaʻi agricultural producers are invited to learn about U.S. Department of Agriculture conservation programs, financial and technical assistance, farm loans and programs, crop insurance, soil health and more.
Three free workshops are planned this week:
West Kauaʻi Farmer, Rancher and Forester Resource Workshop
Information: 5 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday; Hanapēpē Library, 4490 Kona Road, Hanapēpē.
East Kauaʻi Farmer, Rancher and Forester Resource Workshop
Information: 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday; Kauaʻi War Memorial Convention Hall, 4191 Hardy St., Līhuʻe.
North Kauaʻi Farmer, Rancher and Forester Resource Workshop
Information: 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday; Anahola Clubhouse, 3900 Kawelo St., Anahola.
Representatives from Kauaʻi Soil and Water Conservation Districts and U.S. Department of Agriculture agencies — including the Natural Resources Conservation Service, Farm Service Agency and Risk Management Agency — will provide information about resources available to farmers, ranchers and foresters to help conserve soil, protect water and provide wildlife habitat.
These services promote conservation practices that help producers improve their operations, reduce their production costs and conserve natural resources.
