January donation event for Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is today
The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center will be accepting donations today in Līhu‘e.
Residents, businesses and other organizations can bring unwanted or unneeded items for reuse — including clothing, small furniture, children’s toys, books and shoes — from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to the Kaua‘i Resource Center, located at 3460 Ahukini Road.
Clothing and textiles do not need to be in good condition. Torn or stained clothing is OK.
Do not bring eWaste, chemicals, appliances, medical items or broken items.
Community members are encouraged to check with local thrift stores to see if they can accept donations before bringing items to the Kaua‘i Resource Center.
Because of health and safety concerns, heavy equipment in the area and to reduce the chance of injury to customers unloading heavy items, the Salvation Army requests people remain in their vehicles while at the resource center.
The Adult Rehabilitation Center also offers pick-up services to thrift stores and businesses. Call 808-241-4838 to schedule new service.
For people who want home pick-up service, contact Habitat for Humanity Restore at 808-335-6105 or RP’s Random Closet, a for-profit agency, at 808-346-0020.
For information about general recycling or reuse, Call 808-241-4841 or visit the Kaua‘i County recycling website or Kaua‘i County reuse webite for general recycling or reuse information.
