Conservation workshops are free and open to Kauaʻi farmers, ranchers and foresters this month
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is offering conservation workshops for farmers, ranchers and foresters working on farms and agricultural land on Kauaʻi this month.

The workshops are free to attend and will give attendees information on financial and technical assistance, farm loans and other educational programs, crop insurance, soil health and more.

5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 15 at the Hanapepe Library - East Kauaʻi Farmer, Rancher and Forester Resource Workshop
5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 16 at the Kauaʻi War Memorial Convention Hall - North Kauaʻi Farmer, Rancher and Forester Resource Workshop
5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 17 at the Anahola Clubhouse
Representatives with Kauaʻi Soil and Water Conservation Districts will join the Department of Agricultural agencies, which include the Natural Resources Conservation Service, Farm Service Agency and Risk Management Agency, to provide information on financial and technical resources available to farmers, ranchers and foresters to help them conserve soil, protect water and provide wildlife habitat.
The conservation practices promoted are meant to help producers improve their operations, reduce production costs and conserve natural resources.
