Helping nourish Kaua‘i today while working together to end hunger tomorrow
Kukui‘ula, a residential and resort community on Kauaʻi’s southern coast, invites the community to a holiday open house unlike any other on the island.
The Kukui‘ula Festive Parade of Homes is a wonderful time of year to see where you and the family could be spending your next holiday season, lounging in a new custom-built home.
It’s also an opportunity to show your giving spirit — and the reason for the season — by donating to help support Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua‘i and its mission to nourish the Garden Isle.
Come tour 6 beautiful custom-built homes from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kukui‘ula while enjoying light refreshments, festive decor and a giveaway.
After touring the homes, visit Aepo Nei to explore 2 exciting new-build projects — Nā Hiku and Kauaʻi Bahia — before having a tasty Puka Dog, a “Hawaiian style hot dog,” and some refreshing beverages at Aepo Nei Homesite 27.
Note: Hours might vary for some participating homes on the tour. See individual open house times at the Festive Parade of Homes website.
Those who attend can and are encouraged to support Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua‘i by bringing food and/or monetary donations.
“We recognize the importance of strengthening the foundation of our community by addressing needs such as food scarcity,” said Trinette Kaui, vice president of land assets and community relations at Brue Baukol Capital Partners Kaua‘i. “Together, we can help Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua‘i with its mission of nourishing our Kaua‘i community today while working to end hunger tomorrow.”
For every monetary donation of $25 or more, Festive Parade of Homes guests will receive an entry to win one of six prizes:
- Grand prize: 2-night stay at The Lodge at Kukuiʻula.
- 1st prize: Round of golf for 4, including cart and lunch at Kukuiʻula.
- 2nd prize: 90 minute spa treatment for 1 person at Hi’ilani Spa at Kukuiʻula.
- 3rd prize: Kukuiʻula golf gift pack.
- 4th prize: Kukuiʻula discovery gift pack.
- 5th prize: Signed Mike Coots “Shark” book.
Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua‘i estimates 23% of Kaua‘i’s households are food insecure.
Last year, the organization distributed food for more than 1.5 million meals — a quarter of which was fresh, healthy produce.
That food goes to a network of more than 40 hunger-relief partners on the island that provide it to those in need through a variety of programs throughout the year, including those focused on keiki and kūpuna.
“Too many families face skipping meals to make ends meet, which is especially disheartening on an island as bountiful as Kaua‘i,” said Wes Perreira, director of Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua‘i. “We are grateful to Kukui‘ula for hosting a food and fund drive and encouraging people to help bring relief to our community.”
Hawai‘i Foodbank — Hawai‘i’s largest hunger relief organization — works with a network of more than 225 agency partners on O‘ahu and Kaua‘i, along with affiliate food banks on Maui and Hawai‘i Island, to provide food assistance throughout the the state.
Kukuiʻula is a 1,010-acre residential and resort community on the island’s southern coast in Poʻipū.
It includes a world-class spa, a Tom Weiskopf-designed 18-hole golf course, pickleball and tennis courts and a collection of saltwater swimming pools replicating an oasis with an expansive lawn where you will find sandpit volleyball, bocce ball and more.
There also is a 10-acre park area where members and guests can pick their own produce from tropical fruit to herbs and hike its surrounding trails.
The development, owned by Denver-based real estate investment firm Brue Baukol Capital Partners, is nestled between the National Tropical Botanical Garden and historic Old Kōloa Town.
More than $1.1 million has been contributed to support community nonprofits through the Kukuiʻula Development Charitable Program, The Club at Kukuiʻula Community Benefit Fund and the Employee Kōkua Fund, driving impactful work on Kauaʻi.
